LG Electronics is in talks with BSkyB to supply 3D TV sets for the pay-TV operator to use for public demonstrations.
The consumer electronics manufacturer plans to launch 3D TV sets during the first half of the year and has increased its expectations for sales to one million this year from 400,000. As well as Sky, the company is in talks with various electronic retailers in the US and Europe. It plans to launch 47-inch and 55-inch 3D TVs from the end of March and will expand its line-ups to include 60- and 72-inch models.
LG is the latest to announce 3D TV launch plans, with Samsung and Sony planning to offer their own products later this year.
