Kabel BW to launch VOD this year

Kabel BW plans to launch a VOD service in the third quarter of this year and will offer its 100Mbps broadband service to 7.7 million households from May.

The announcements came as the German cable operator said it added 143,000 new internet customers last year, giving it a total of 525,000. It also said 22.8% of its 2.3 million TV subscribers also use internet and telephony services.

Revenues for 2009 were up 13% to €493m. EBITDA increased 29% to €245m.
