Canal Plus to provide HD channels to Canal Ready satellite receivers

05 Jun 09 -

French pay-TV provider Canal Plus Group has made its line-up of HD channels available to satellite receivers sold at retail that carry the Canal Ready logo. Canal Plus launched the Canal Ready logo programme to support the development of a retail market for receivers in France last month.

Subscribers with Canal Ready HD satellite receivers will now be able to receive Canal Plus HD and the HD channels on the Canalsat digital platform. Set-top manufacturers Sagem and Strong have already commercialised HD Canal Ready receivers, and are expected to be joined by other manufacturers soon, according to Canal Plus.
