Telefónica, which has pay-TV operations in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Columbia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Peru, Spain and Venezuela, had a pay-TV customer base of 2.7 million at the end of June, up 8% year-on-year.
In Spain, the telco said it added 45,000 new pay-TV customers during the half of the year, giving it a subscriber base of 748,000 at the end of June, up 22.7% year-on-year. Double- and triple-play packages accounted for 90% of connections by the end of June. First-half wireline revenue totalled €5.7bn, down 6% year-on-year.
In the Czech Republic, Telefónica ended June with 133,000 O2 TV subscribers.
