Stream TV launches new movie download portal

02 Jul 09 -

Russian service provider Stream TV has launched a new movie portal. Registered users can use the Stream Movies site to order and download DRM-secured films, paying for a licence to view. Payment can be made via instant payment terminals, online payment systems or credit card.

Stream said that it had 15,000 titles available for download, including TV shows, music videos, sports clips and cartoons as well as feature-length movies.
Stream TV has also launched new weather and currency services on its TV service. Viewers can use the information section of their TV guide to access five-day weather forecasts, and can also access currency conversion rate data for the US dollar and euro.

Separately, Stream TV said it had ceased broadcasting the Voom HD channel for reasons beyond its control and the Blue Hustler channel after failing to strike an agreement to continue to carry the service.
