YouTube reported to be finalising deals

Online video service YouTube is reportedly in the process of finalising deals with major Hollywood studios and other international content providers to launch online channels on its platform.

The Google-owned platform has requested that some of the content for the channels is ready by the end of November ahead of an early 2012 launch, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The deals are being negotiated by YouTube co-chief executive Salar Kamangar and TV and film executive Robert Kyncl, who joined last year from Netflix.
